The Chemical Brothers are a British big beat and dance duo from Manchester, featuring Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands. Formed in 1989, they released their debut album, ‘Exit Planet Dust’ in 1995, which reached #9 in the UK Albums Chart and led to them signing with Virgin Records.
They released their second album, ‘Dig Your Own Hole’, in 1997, but it was their third album, ‘Surrender’, in 1999, that featured Noel Gallagher, Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donahue, Bobby Gillespie, Bernard Sumner and Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval, that went to #1 in the chart. Their following albums, ‘Come With Us’, in 2002, Push The Button in 2005, We Are The Night in 2007, Further in 2010 and Born in the Echoes in 2015, have all gone to #1 in the UK Albums Chart.
An incredible electronic act able to fill arenas, the duo have played many festivals including Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, and Reading and Leeds. They headlined Belfast’s Belsonic in June and South West Four Festival in August 2016.
