The Flaming Lips are an American psychedelic rock band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, consisting of Wayne Coyne, Michael Ivins, Steven Drozd, Derek Brown, Jake Ingalls, Matt Duckworth and Nicholas Ley.

Since forming in 1986, the band have put out fourteen studio albums, including their debut, ‘Hear It Is’, which came out in 1986, ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’, in 2002 and ‘At War with the Mystics’, which hit #6 in the UK Albums Chart in 2006. The band also have a collaborative relationship with Miley Cyrus appearing on her album, ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz’. The band released their latest album, ‘Oczy Mlody’, in January 2017, on Warner Bros in the USA and Bella Union in the UK.

A critically acclaimed live act, they use videos, massive props, puppets, effects, creating one of the most elaborate live shows in the music scene. They have headlined Liverpool's Sound City, as well as having player Edinburgh’s Ross Bandstand in August as part of the Magners Summer Series.
