The Hold Steady are an American alternative and indie rock outfit hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 2004, they’re one of the band’s most popular modern exports, thanks to their serious-subject exploring, storytelling-like lyrics as much as their sweet music.
Consisting of frontman Craig Finn, guitarist Tad Kubler, drummer Bobby Drake, bassist Galen Polivka and drummer Steve Selvidge, they’ve managed to break into the Top 40 both sides of the pond with more recent album releases.
Their latest and sixth record, ‘Teeth Dreams’, dropped in March 2014, and they've since released special and deluxe version of previous albums, including 'Separation Sunday', 'Almost Killed Me', and 'Boys and Girls in America'. in December of 2017, The Hold Steady released new material in the form of the single Entitlement Crew, with B side A Snake in the Shower.
The Hold Steady will return to London next spring for three shows dubbed The Weekender, following up a successful visit earlier in 2018. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.

There are easier jobs than singing along with Craig Finn, particularly when he’s in this sort of mood. His arms are spread wide, proselytising like the old days. He shimmies and shakes. His guitar, never his closest friend, swings at his waist like an invitation to a party he’s only half into. His words pour out and are yelled back by everyone who can keep pace; anyone who hasn’t already screamed their voice to shreds. It’s good to see him back in a bar band, baby.
