The Macc Lads are a rock band from Macclesfield, Cheshire. Self proclaimed as the "rudest, crudest, lewdest, drunkest band in Christendom", the Macc Lads use irreverent, foul-mouthed and politically incorrect lyrics - common lyrical themes being binge drinking, sex and fighting.
Active from 1981 to 1995 and having just reformed in 2018, the band now tend to be regarded more favourably, a contrast to the reaction they generated in their heyday, with many appreciating the blatant schoolboy humour and tongue-in-cheek nature of the source material now. Back in the day, the Macc Lads released six albums in the 1980s and '90s, their debut 'Beer and Sex and Chips and Gravy' dropping in 1985 via Hectic House, and their final being 'Alehouse Rock' in 1994 through Dojo. Since, they've released a string of EPs, the latest being 2006's 'England'. The Macc Lads will tour the UK throughout autumn 2021.
