The Orb is an English electronic music band from London, consisting of Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlman, who replaced KLF member Jimmy Cauty.
Formed in 1988, they released their debut album, ‘The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld’, in 1991, which reached #29 in the UK Albums Chart, but it was their second album, 'U.F.Orb', that saw them taking the biscuit, hitting #1 in the charts. They've gone on to release 13 studio albums, the latest being 2015's 'Moonbuilding 2703 AD'. As well as their own headline shows adn tours, the Orb have also supported the Happy Mondays. The Orb's 15th studio album 'No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds' was released in June 2018, and features collaborations with a range of artists, including Alex Paterson, Thomas Fehlmann, Youth, Roger Eno, Hollie Cook, Guy Pratt and Jah Wobble. After their successful ‘Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld’ 25th anniversary tour, The Orb embarked on a 30th anniversary greatest hits tour in autumn 2018.
