The Script are an Irish pop rock outfit hailing from Dublin. Formed in 2001, the band consists of frontman and piano-player Danny O'Donoghue, vocalist/guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power.
Donoghue and Sheehan originally found each other as 12 year-old friends, and would almost make it big after finding employment as songwriters and producers in the USA, even working with the likes of TLC, Boys II Men, and others, but would eventually head back to Dublin, where they met Power. After working on songs together, they would get a deal with Phonogenic, and later RCA.
The Script’s eponymous debut album secured the Irish trio the status of an international act to watch after it's release in August 2008. A musical blend of rock, pop, hip hop and soul, singles like We Cry and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved helped bring the band to the fore with a #1 finish in the UK and millions of record sales worldwide.
Their second album ‘Science & Faith’ emulated their debut’s success, hitting #1 in the UK once again, and paving the way for their third album ‘#3’, which saw a release in September 2012 and climbed to #2.
Having now performed on some of the biggest stages and at the most popular festivals the world has to offer, The Script made their return with brand new LP, ‘No Sound Without Silence’ in September 2014. 2015 was ramjammed full of tours and festival dates in support of it.
The Script are back in 2017 supporting their new album, ’Freedom Child’, which has made it to #1 in the UK, with a UK arena tour for February 2018. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
I was one of those lucky girls who got to stand front row after waiting 10 hours in line. It was worth the wait. They played all their hits and I got to touch Danny multiple times. Too bad the girl next to me catched Glen's drum stick. It was my bday back then so I thought I deserved it haha. 2 months later they came back for Pinkpop in Holland and I met them. Got a chance to have pictures and autographs with them. They are seriously the most down to earth guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Whenever they come. I buy tickets. No doubt in my mind. Best band ever.
Outstanding by far the best band and live gig I have ever been to, my husband's now been converted. Back looking to book more tickets so we can see them again, the Script are a must see if you love live music and so reasonably priced when you see how much others charge for tickets and their merchandise.
The script were amazing, and I really enjoyed hearing the lads play and Danny's amazing voice. they were brilliant live!! Danny's voice is just incredible and I would strongly recommend that you go and see them live because I think that you would absolutely love it, especially if you are a fan of them!
