The Selecter are an English 2-Tone band from Coventry, consisting of Pauline Black, Arthur 'Gaps' Hendrickson, Winston Marche, Orlando LaRose, Neil Pyzer-Skeete, Will Crewdson, Luke Palmer and Lee Horsley.
Formed in 1979, the band released their debut album, ‘Too Much Pressure’, in 1980, which hit #5 in the UK Albums Chart, followed by ‘Celebrate the Bullet’, in 1981, before the band split. They reformed in 1991, and released seven more albums before disbanding again. The band returned in 2010, and released ‘Made in Britain’ in 2011, ‘String Theory’ in 2013, and ‘Subculture’ in 2015.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK, including celebrating their 35th anniversary in 2014 with a UK tour.
The organisers of Slam Dunk Festival deliver co-headline outdoor summer shows with The Selecter, Stiff Little Fingers, The Beat, and Buzzcocks in Leeds, Hatfield and Birmingham.
But before this, The Selecter and the Beat feat. Ranking Roger will team up for a final run of dates together next spring, and again (in the US) in fall 2018. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
