The Yardbirds are a British blues, rock, and pop band, who launched the careers of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, but which currently consists of only one original member Jim McCarty, alongside new members.
Formed in 1963, the band started as a house band at the legendary club, Crawdaddy. They had a string of hits in the 1960s, including For your Love, Heart full of Soul, Shape of Things, Evil Hearted You and Bo Diddley's I'm a Man, before splitting in 1968. The band reformed in the 1990s, featuring Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja, along with new members. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 The band released a new album, ‘Birdland’, in 2003 but Dreja had to leave the band in 2013 due to illness.
