Thunder are an English hard rock band from London, currently consisting of frontman Danny Bowes, guitarists Luke Morley and Ben Matthews, bassist Chris Childs, and drummer Gary 'Harry' James.
Formed in 1989, the band was created following the demise of Terraplane. They would go on to release their debut album ‘Backstreet Symphony’ in 1990, which hit #21 in the UK Albums Chart. However, it was their second album, ‘Laughing on Judgement Day’, that saw them finding real chart success, peaking at #2. Thunder would eventually disband in 2000, following five albums.
After returning for new albums and live appearances in 2002, they once again fizzled out, but in 2011 they would return again. 2013 saw them tour alongside Journey and Whitesnake for one of the most popular classic rock ventures of recent years, and in 2015, they headed back out on the road for three arena stops in Leeds, London, and Birmingham. Following their new album, 'Wonder Days', in 2015, the band would play a run of UK shows in February 2016. The band released their latest album, ‘Rip It Up’, in February 2017.
Thunder will play Caerphilly Castle in south Wales this summer. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
