Tiempo Libre are an American ‘timba’ outfit hailing from Miami, Florida with strong ties to Cuba. Formed in 2008, the band consists of pianist and composer Jorge Gomez, singer Xavier Mili, bassist Wilvi Rodriguez Guerra, sax/flute-player Luis Beltran Castillo, Leandro González on the congas, Raúl Rodríguez on trumpet, and drummer Israel Morales Figueroa.
Together, Tiempo Libre create an irresistible mix of dance-inducing timba that harnesses elements taken from jazz, R&B, and original Cuban style music. They have been creating waves in the scene ever since they made a name for themselves.
