Tommy Tiernan is a comedian and actor from Country Donegal, Ireland. He began his career in 1995, with his first stand-up show Stop the Train in Galway, and proceeded to host the BBC's Stand-Up Show from then until 2002.

The Lowry is a theatre and entertainment complex based on Pier 8 in Salford, Greater Manchester. First opened back in 2000, and boasting a capacity of around 2,000 (split between the main Lyric room and the smaller Quay), it has been one of city's staple locations for performance art, pantomime, and the likes. It also, however, acts as a gallery, and has a lot of work from L S Lowry - its namesake - amongst others spread over 2,000 square foot!
