Vampire Weekend are an American indie rock outfit hailing from New York, fronted by Ezra Koenig, alongside drummer Chris Tomson, and bassist Chris Baio. Guitarist Rostam Batmanglij announced he was leaving the band in January 2016.
The band formed in 2006, and released their eponymous debut record in 2008, which hit #15 in the UK Albums Chart and #17 in the USA Billboard Hot 200. Their second record 'Contra' saw them find even more success, and it peaked at #1 in a number of countries across the world. 2013 saw their third record 'Modern Vampires of the City' hitting shelves, which hit #3 in the UK and topped the Billboard Hot 200 in the USA. Their new album, 'Father Of The Bridge' dropped in May 2019, and Vampire Weekend will support the record with North American, Australian, UK, Ireland and European tours in 2019 and into October 2020.
