White Lies are an English post-punk band from Ealing, London, consisting of frontman Harry McVeigh, bassist Charles Cave, and drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown.
Formed in 2007, under the name Fear of Flying, the band signed with Friction Records, and were nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2009 and the BRITs Critics' Choice Award. They released their debut album, 'To Lose My Life...', in 2009, which hit #1 in the UK Album Chart. ‘Ritual’ followed in 2011, hitting #3 in the chart and ‘Big TV’ was released in 2013, reaching #4. The band have now signed with Infectious Music and released ‘Friends’, in October 2016.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK, as well as having played festivals such as Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Oxegen and well as having supported bands such as The Maccabees, Jamie T, Laura Marling and Coldplay and taken part in BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend and the 2009 NME Awards Tour.
