Wyclef Jean is a rapper, musician and actor from Haiti, now based in New Jersey. He first achieved fame as a member of the New Jersey hip hop group the Fugees, and over his career has won three Grammy Awards for his musical work.
As a solo artist, Jean has released 12 albums since his debut 'The Carnival' in 1997, with more throughout the 2000, and his latest, 2017's 'J'ouvert' and 'Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee', and 2018's 'Mystery'. He's also undertaken various other projects - having starred in seven films, filed for candidacy in the Haitian presidential elections, efforts in earthquake relief, and in 2012 published a memoir: An Immigrant's story.
