Apocalyptica are a neo-classical metal band from Helsinki, Finland.

Formed in 1993—originally as a Metallica tribute band—the band released their debut album 'Plays Metallica by Four Cellos' in 1996. They put out a handful of records under this concept, but eventually began to adopt a neoclassical metal style and released their own music. To date, the band have recorded a total of nine studio albums including, most recently, 'Cell-0' in 2020.
