Second Beady Eye Album Expected This Year

Beady Eye are looking to release their second LP this year. Despite releasing their debut only two months ago, Liam Gallagher has claimed that they band intend to release the follow-up to their Number Three album ‘The Roller’ before the end of 2011.

Speaking to The Irish Times, Gallagher said: “The big difference between Beady Eye and Oasis is that we're not going to put the ball down, sit around in a big house and go 'we're great'. We won't be taking months and months in the studio either. We don't want to roll this over into next year. There will be an awesome new album coming soon."

Clearly identifying with the idea of a work ethic, Gallagher has given several interviews recently declaring his intention to keep busy with Beady Eye. Speaking to Associated Press, he said: "People think when you've got money it just stays in a big pile forever, but you spend it, don't you? You've got to work and keep busy, or you'll go mad. And I'm not doing this because of money, it's because I love it, and I don't have a choice. I didn't think 'I'd like to join a band' and then join one - it happened to me."

Meanwhile, despite not normally being one to speak out of turn, Liam Gallagher has defied convention this week by criticising a controversial statue of Michael Jackson, branding it “ridiculous”. The coloured statue, which was unveiled outside Fulham football club by eccentric chairman Mohammed Al Fayed, has received mixed reviews from the club’s notably vocal fanbase.

Gallagher, who is a keen Manchester City fan, made an appearance on ‘Football Focus’ this weekend, saying: "It's a bit silly, isn't it? It could be worse, it could be Justin Bieber - but then it wouldn't be that high, would it?"
