Alkaline Trio UK Tour In Doubt After Matt Skiba Breaks Ankle

American punk rockers Alkaline Trio may be forced to cancel or postpone their UK tour after frontman Matt Skiba was injured in a motorcycle accident last Thursday (27th).
The lead vocalist and guitarist was stopped at a red light while riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a truck, which ran over his ankle, causing him to suffer a closed fracture on his ankle bone and a fractured metatarsal. With a UK tour due to start this Saturday (5th), the frontman is hoping that he receives a walking cast from his doctor, allowing him to play the British run of shows.
Keeping fans updated via his Twitter page, Skiba wrote: “My right foot was run over by a semi truck while stopped at a light on my motorcycle yesterday. Broke my foot and ankle badly. Dr tomorrow.tbc. hoping for walking cast so I can do our UK dates but where the breaks are it's not likely. I'll do my best and keep those who care posted..x”
He continued: "I go in to see the orthopedic dr tomorrow for a real cast and a true diagnosis. I'll let those who care know ASAP if the UK is possible. x! Moto crashes only go 2 ways: walk (or limp) away or you don't.”
