LA Funk Rockers Permanent Ability Announce New Album Details

LA-based funk-rock band Permanent Ability have announced details of their forthcoming full-length album, which they are currently working on in the studio. The band have released the cover art and track listing (see below) for the album, which is also set to feature Serj Tankian’s bass player Mario Pagliarulo.

ImageThe album is tentatively-titled ‘Love You To Death’ and is expected to be produced by Jim Wirt, who has also worked on albums by Incubus and Hoobastank, and previously produced Permanent Ability’s 2010 EP ‘Bring It On!’ The album is expected to be released in spring 2012.

Speaking about the new album, Permanent Ability frontman Brian Lanese said: “We wanted to sculpt a vibe by simplifying our writing style. We realized by doing this it made the music groove more instead of always being very busy. Busy sounds great live, but for this record we wanted to try a ‘less is more’ approach. I am very proud of this record - feel it might be our best yet - and I'm excited as hell to share the new songs. We are about halfway through the recording process and hope to have the new music in your ears by spring.”

Mario Pagliarulo forms part of Serj Tankian’s backing band The FCC and appeared on the System Of A Down frontman’s second solo album ‘Imperfect Harmonies’. Permanent Ability previously worked with Lige Curry, the bass player the George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic, on their 2008 EP ‘From The Womb to Hollywood’.
