McFly Stars To Appear On Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

McFly are spending so much time on TV that they’re almost a group of reality TV stars more than a group of pop-rockers, with Harry Judd recently winning Strictly Come Dancing and Dougie Poynter crowned champion of ‘I’m a Celebrity...’. Now, Poynter and bandmate Tom Fletcher will face 12 questions from legendary host Chris Tarrant – as they’ve signed up to appear on Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

The band-members will be hoping to raise as much money as they can for charity as the 14 year-old game-show lines-up two holiday specials. The boys will take part in the second, which will see them paired up alongside the unlikely duo of Lee Mack and Stacey Solomon, as well as Sara Cox and Richard Madeley. This episode is set to air on January 3rd.

The first festive episode will also feature couples of celebs – this time pairing up British Olympic boxer Amir Khan with comedian Jason Manford, X-Factor star Matt Cardle with New Romantic bassist Martin Kemp, Javelin medallist Fatima Whitbread with Opera-style singer Russell Watson and superstar chef Heston Blumenthal with ITV presenter Kate Garraway. You can catch all the celebs on ITV this Monday.

Sara Cox is looking to raise cash for homeless charity Centrepoint, and said: “I’ve always wanted to find out what it’s like to be in the Millionaire hot seat and luckily I’ve got Richard to hold my hand if it all gets too much. I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can raise lots of cash for Centrepoint and open the New Year with a bang.”

If you'd rather see McFly playing their hits on stage than answering questions on TV, you can catch them when they tour the UK in spring next year. To get tickets, check the dates and details below.
