LL Cool J To Host 2012 Grammy Award Ceremony

Hip-hop star LL Cool J has been drafted in as the host of this year’s Grammy Award ceremony, the 54th annual Grammy Awards since its beginning in 1959.

The rapper and now actor will be the master of ceremonies when the ceremony, which is to be held in LA’s massive Staples Centre arena, takes place on February 12th. The awards celebrate the best in music from around the world and are considered one of the biggest achievements a musician can receive.

LL Cool J is extremely excited to be hosting the event, but already has some experience hosting a Grammy event, hosting the nominations ceremony last year. The star has released a statement prior to the service.

“I'm thrilled to be part of music's biggest night,” he wrote. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammys Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”

R&B singer Diana Ross will reportedly honoured with the life-time achievement award at the show, while British soul singer Adele tops the nominations leaderboard with six. Bruno Mars, Kanye West and the Foo Fighters are all also likely to pick up awards, with each of them receiving multiple nominations.
