Adele Forced To Scrap World Tour Plans?

Singing sensation Adele could miss out on millions of pounds of tour earnings after being warned that her vocal chords could be permanently damaged if she embarks on another world tour.

Adele, who made her live return at the Grammy and BRIT awards last week, underwent microsurgery in November last year after she was diagnosed with a benign polyp on her vocal chords. Today, the Daily Star has reported that plans for another Adele world tour have been cancelled after doctors advised that too much performing could cut the Grammy and BRIT Award winner's career to an end. This news means that Adele's cancelled dates in the States, as well as her plans to perform at London's O2 Arena, are under threat.

Speaking about the tour plans, a source said: "The surgery was successful but doctors are still concerned she could damage her golden voice. They have given the go-ahead to one-off shows but a full tour has been ruled out for now.”

Missing out on millions in tour earnings, Adele and her record label have apparently decided she will record a new album and consider touring following it's release. The source continued: “Adele isn’t motivated by money, that’s the last thing she cares about. She had a serious scare with her voice and is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen again. She’s also turned down TV offers and advertising campaigns because she doesn’t want to be a celebrity. She’s motivated by the music not the fame and fortune.”

Adele will now reportedly take an “extended break” to spend time with boyfriend Simon Konecki. Check back to Stereoboard for further developments on Adele's up-and-coming live schedule, we'll bring you further details as soon as the news surfaces.
