Queen Confirm Sonisphere Knebworth 2012 Has Been Cancelled

Rock titans Queen have confirmed the rumours that Sonisphere Knebworth 2012 has been cancelled.
According to Queen's official website, and echoed by BBC Newsbeat, the band issued a statement this evening confirming this afternoon's rumours that the Summer festival had been cancelled: "It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012".
Queen have since removed the statement from thier website, however www.espyrock.com report that some of the details remain on the site's news archive list.
Organisers Kilimanjaro are yet to give their official word on the news, however, Sonisphere's official website have removed the option to buy tickets and a statement is expected to be released tomorrow. Sonisphere was due to take place at Knebworth Park, Stevenage on 6th-8th July.
Queen, now comprising of Brian May and Roger Taylor with American Idol winner Adam Lambert on vocals, were due to headline the Saturday evening with Glam-rock megastars KISS topping the bill on Friday night. Faith No More were to close the festival on Sunday evening.
Other acts on the bill included Evanescence, Marilyn Manson, Cypress Hill, Glassjaw, Refused, The Darkness, Incubus, Ghost, Flogging Molly and musical comedian Tim Minchin.
