Rock n’ roll icons Guns N Roses aren’t exactly the most time-organised of bands, and are notorious for upsetting their own fans by turning up late to their own gigs. But in Manchester on Tuesday (May 29th) night, they really took the biscuit – and ended up leaving he stage over three hours after they’d planned to finish.
The new line-up of the band, still fronted by singer Axl Rose, are currently touring the UK and managed to not piss off their fans in Dublin – despite their last gig in the city ending with the band being booed off and barraged with missiles.
But, although they managed to turn up on time in Dublin, in Manchester, they entered the stage over an hour late. They then proceeded to rip through a 33-song, three-hour long performance which finished at 2:15 – more than three hours after the event’s promoters claimed the gig would finish.
There’ve been a few angry messages cropping around Twitter and one user wrote: “I'm angry. Guns N' Roses? No Goons and Losers. Had to leave for last train before they even graced us with their presence. Disgusted.”
Despite the incident, though, the band have posted on Twitter and gave ‘a tip of the hat to the good folk at the Manchester Arena’ – before telling fans that ‘London’s calling’.
The band have two remaining dates left on their UK tour, both in London’s O2 Arena. If you need tickets to see them, check the dates and details below.
