Gainesville, Florida natives Less Than Jake have revealed details of their forthcoming new album 'Greetings and Salutations', set for an October 15th release via Rude Records.
The band - comprised of lyricist/drummer Vinnie Fiorello, vocalist/guitarist Chris DeMakes, vocalist/bassist Roger Manganelli, saxophonist Peter "JR" Wasilewski, and trombonist Buddy Schaub – play the Lock Up Stage this weekend at Reading and Leeds festivals, giving fans a first glimpse of the new material as well as old faves.
Says Vinnie: “Reading was our first ever show in the UK and it always holds top spots for our favorite festival to play. We are beyond humbled to be able to continue to play such a legendary festival.”
The 12-track release recorded at The Moathouse in Gainesville and produced by Less Than Jake's own Roger Lima, includes both limited edition EP's 'Season's Greetings' and 'Greetings From Less Than Jake' plus two unreleased songs.
The dozen tracks are pure unfiltered Less Than Jake, Sunny ska mixed with barn-burner punk rock, more intended to get long-time fans and first-time listeners warmed up and moshing in their living rooms and singing along to every lyric. Keeping its signature mix of punk roots and horn-driven melodies, songs like 'A Return To Headphones' and 'Finer Points of Forgiveness' take the best of old-school Less Than Jake and put on a fresh coat of paint for an amped-up listening experience.
The first single, 'Goodbye Mr Personality' is available now on iTunes.
