Punk rock icons Green Day have toured all over the world in their 25 year career, and have shared the stage with many a band - big or small, famous or local. But, if you were to ask the band and it’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong who the ‘worst’ band they’d toured with was, you may not expect to hear Bon Jovi as the answer...
But, it is the ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ singers who have been named as Armstrong’s least favourite tour companions, while its Swedish rockers The Hives who were named as the best band they’ve had the privilege of playing alongside with.
Armstrong was asked the question by Kerrang!, and replied: “The best [band we've shared a stage with] is probably The Hives, they're a great live band. [As for the worst] Oh boy, I have to go with Bon Jovi.”
The magazine then asked Armstrong what the funniest rumour he’d heard about himself was, which he said was hearing that he’d died - saying: “I was in Los Angeles recording 'American Idiot', and I got a call from my wife freaking out. It was just internet stuff gone wild.”
You’ll probably be happy to know that Armstrong is still alive and well, and will be touring the world with Green Day for the next year. You can catch him performing in London’s Emirates Stadium on June 1st 2013 - if you need tickets, check below and find yours through Stereoboard.
