Saxophonist Bobby Keys Confirms The Rolling Stones Are To Play London Shows In November

The rumours that the Rolling Stones are to play two London shows next month grow stronger by the day. According to the band's long-time sax player, Bobby Keys, the veteran rockers will play London and US shows in November.

On Monday, 8th October, Stones guitarist Keith Richards confirmed that he and his bandmates have been booked to perform in both London and New York. He remained tight-lipped on where and when the performances would take place.

Since then, step forward saxophonist Bobby Keys, a new revelation has confirmed details that were previously denied by the band. "[The Rolling Stones are] gonna do some more concerts, starting in November with two in England and then a couple here in the States, then there's a few added concerts after that," Keys told Billboard.com.

Keys added: "Keith told me a couple months ago there was something in the wind and just be ready to go. I'm waiting for them to send me the plane ticket and the information, and then I'll go."

Record Of The Day have reported that the dates look set for November 25th and November 29th, however, these dates have not been officially confirmed.

The legendary British rockers have been rumoured to return to the stage for a while now, coinciding new concerts with the celebration of their 50th anniversary. When asked whether the band's next live shows will be their last, Keys commented: "The reality is this train is going to pull into the last station pretty soon – I don't know how soon. I've been saying this since 1980! But I feel like it's kind of winding down. This may be sort of the 'Sayonara, see you later, had a good time, keep in touch.' I don't know that for sure. I haven't officially been told anything... I just take my cue primarily from what Keith says, so we'll have to see."

The Rolling Stones are to release 'GRRR!’, a new compilation next month. Further details on the new collection, which includes two brand news songs, can be found here.
