To celebrate their 50th anniversary, The Rolling Stones announced this morning four massive concerts. Two show are to take place in London and two shows are to take place in US. The Rolling Stones Tickets for their UK dates are on sale from 9am on Friday 19th October with some tickets for the shows costing a massive £950! Even if you part with £90 worth of your hard-earned cash, that amount will only secure you one of the cheapest seats in the house.
Face value tickets for next month's London shows range from £90 to £375. There are VIP packages available, however, prepare your bank account for a serious hit, as such hospitality (which does include a champagne reception and three-course dinner) will set you back £950 per head.
So why the massive prices? Well, as you can expect, seeing the Rolling Stones is a truly fantastic experience in itself. One of the planet's most iconic rock n roll bands performing live on stage in front of you is never going to come cheap. In August, it was reported that the concert promoters were to pay the Stones around £16million for the four UK/US shows. If such figures are correct, it would mean that based on the two venues being sold out, the promoter would have to make an average of £207 per ticket-holder to cover the band's fee alone.
Speaking about the anticipated concerts, Sir Mick Jagger says: "Everybody loves a celebration, and London and New York are two good places to do it in."
Richards added: "I've always said the best place for rock and roll is on the stage and the same is true for the Stones."
Probably THE most anticipated concerts of the year, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts will perform on Sunday 25th November and Thursday 29th November at London's O2 Arena. The Rolling Stones Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 19th October.
