The Rolling Stones' 'Doom & Gloom' Set To Miss Out On UK Top 40

It appears the release of the Rolling Stones' first new studio recording for seven years has failed to impress fans, with the track sat at lowly Number 74 in the charts.

The veteran rockers have been unable to persuade fans to part with 99p of their cash to download their new track 'Doom And Gloom'. Could the unusually low chart place be related to the backlash from fans who are angry that tickets for band's recently announced UK shows are on sale with a price tag of £90 to £375!

According to the midweek sales, 'Doom And Gloom' looks as though it will fail to chart inside the Top 40 this weekend. The Rolling Stones last recorded a Top 10 hit in 1981 with 'Start Me Up'.

Face value tickets for next month's London shows range from £90 to £375. There are VIP packages available, however, prepare your bank account for a serious hit, as such hospitality (which does include a champagne reception and three-course dinner) will set you back £950 per head.

As fans scramble to secure tickets, some secondary ticketing websites are listing four and five-figure prices. One site has tickets listed for as much as £11,000 each for front row seats!

A spokesman for the concert promoter Virgin Live, comments: "These four shows are very special gigs to mark a unique occasion and milestone in the Rolling Stones' history.

"They are a one-off celebration of their 50th anniversary and not part of an extended global tour where substantial production costs can be spread over a lengthy period of shows.

"The ticket prices are in fact spread over a range of costs and are comparable and similar to other huge shows and attractions."

The iconic Stones will step back on stage for concerts billed as 'The Rolling Stones: 50 Years And Counting', celebrating their 50th anniversary as a band. The group will play two shows at London's O2 Arena on on Sunday 25th November and Thursday 29th November and two shows at Newark's Prudential Center, near New York, on 13th December and 15th December.

The Rolling Stones UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:

Sun November 25th 2012 - The O2 Arena, London
Thu November 29th 2012 - The O2 Arena, London
