Mike Dirnt And Tre Cool Like 'Brothers In Arms' Waiting For Billie Joe Armstrong To Leave Rehab

Mike Dirnt, bassist of punk-rock icons Green Day, has confessed that he and drummer Tre Cool are like ‘brothers in arms’ waiting for their bandmate Billie Joe Armstrong to return from rehab.
The band, who will be performing in London’s Emirates Stadium in June next year, have been rocked by the temporary loss of their frontman, who’s entered rehab to deal with substance abuse. But, though they’re in his absence, Dirnt and Tre are remaining strong, with Dirnt saying that they were ‘going to pull through’.
Speaking to Kerrang, Dirent said: “Billie doesn't take things lightly and he wouldn't take rehab lightly, either. He's in the middle of some really big things, but we're going to pull through. It's killing everyone. Green Day has never been a band that sits still, but sometimes you have to step back and let life go on rather than try to control everything.
“I know that my friend's life is in danger and that's all I care about. We're brothers-in-arms waiting for Billie to return healthy, but we're not going to force anything. Tré and I will be standing here for Billie.”
Despite Armstrong’s stint in rehab, the band are still expected to perform at Emirates next year, and may even be revealing some more tour dates soon - so keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard.
