Last night in the US, The Lumineers received two nominations at the 55th Grammy Awards. The band’s nominations for 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Americana Album' cement what has been a phenomenal year for the Denver trio who, in less than 7 months, have become the biggest DIY success story of year - having sold over 500,000 copies of their debut self-titled album and 1 million single downloads of their debut single ‘Ho Hey’ through the independent Nashville-based label, Dualtone.
In the UK, the band’s debut album and single released last month has been fluctuating in the UK iTunes Top 10 since, with sales increasing week on week. Live, following the band’s fantastic third-ever London show at KOKO and February’s headline show at Shepherds Bush Empire selling out, The Lumineers announced an additional London headline show at Brixton Academy in March due to phenomenal public demand.
