Frank Ocean has been nominated for a staggering six Grammy Awards 2013. These include the most prestigious 'Album Of The Year', 'Record Of The Year' and 'Best New Artist'.
Full list of nominations is as follows:
Album Of The Year – 'Channel Orange'
Record Of The Year – 'Thinkin Bout You'
Best New Artist
Best Urban Contemporary Artist
Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: Jay-Z & Kanye West feat. Frank Ocean & The Dream – 'No Church In The Wild'
Best Short Form Video: Jay-Z & Kanye West feat. Frank Ocean & The Dream – 'No Church In The Wild'
This continues an unprecedented run of success. First emerging as part of the ground-breaking LA collective Odd Future, Frank Ocean dropped his now seminal mixtape 'Nostalgia, Ultra' in 2011. Huge acclaim followed which led to him working with Kanye West and Jay-z on their 'Watch The Throne' record, as well as working with Beyonce, John Legend and Alicia Keys.
His debut album 'Channel Orange' was released in July on Mercury/Def Jam. Lyrically daring and musically adventurous, it's the work of a man with a singular vision, and has rightly received the kind of praise an instant classic record deserves.
