Beyonce To Headline 'The Sound Of Change' Summer Charity Concert At London's Twickenham Stadium

Global superstar Beyoncé will headline an outdoor charity concert at London's Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 1st June. Other acts confirmed for ‘The Sound of Change’ event include Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine, Rita Ora, Haim, Iggy Azalea, Timbaland, Laura Pausini and John Legend.
The concert is being held as part of Gucci's international campaign 'Chime For Change' which is raising funds for female empowerment. The concert will be broadcast around the world and will be produced by Control Room's Kevin Wall and Aaron Grosky, who were behind Live Earth and Live Aid.
Speaking about the concert, Beyoncé, who is also the Chime For Change co-founder and concert director, says: "Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible. I am excited for us to come together on June 1st to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage."
As well as the music on offer, the concert will be screening inspirational short films highlighting women's global issues.
Gucci are to provide financial backing for the event, so all ticket sales go towards charities fighting for better education, justice and health for women. "This is the emergency and the opportunity of today," said Gucci creative director and Chime For Change co-founder Frida Giannini. "We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls' and women's empowerment and now is the time for change. On June 1 at Twickenham Stadium, I hope that The Sound Of Change Live will help the voices calling for change to become so loud that they cannot be ignored."
