Former Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan Perform First Gig Together In 12 Years

Friday, 02 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Mutya Keisha Siobhan - the original Sugababes - have revealed that they loved every minute of their first comeback gig at London's Scala on August 1.

With a new album set for an early 2014 release, the girls duly performed their first full show together for 12 years last night. After the curtain came down they spoke to Digital Spy, revealing that they couldn’t be happier to be back.

Keisha told the site:

“We're really pleased with how it went. Obviously a lot of the set was new songs and you never know how they're going to go down, but they got a great response. It was over too quickly! We didn't want it to end.”

Mutya added:

“[It went[ really quickly! If I'm honest I wanted to go back on stage and keep going. I actually have a viral infection at the moment. My singing off-stage was terrible, but something just seems to click when I'm put in front of the audience.”

Talking about their forthcoming new album, the girls said:

“It's definitely finished, done, ready to go! We know what we want and we've got it. We love all the songs on the record so much that we wouldn't be willing to take anything off it if we recorded something new now. That's what started happening towards the end of the sessions. We had too many songs that we love and it became nearly impossible to put the final tracklist together. We can't mess with it again!”

Performing a set full of Sugababes classics and new, unheard tracks, the crowd seemed to love the show as much as the girls did. With a new album on the way, the likelihood of some more shows is high - would you like to catch the trio live? Leave us a comment in the box below!
