Psychedelic rockers MGMT are streaming their brand new album via Rdio.
The band’s self-titled third record comes out on September 16, but Rdio users can now stream the album in full from today onwards - you can find the stream here. It follows the recent trailer for the record that was unveiled last week, which had fans frothing at the mouth in excitement.
'MGMT', though experimental in style, is receiving positive reviews in the press - though the band admit it’s not the sort of record they’d listen to in their spare time. Supposedly a rather wacky and bizarre collection of songs (one reviewer described it as ‘beyond weird, but in the best, most deliciously mind-bending of ways’), the stream is racking up the hits online - get involved!
Meanwhile, the band recently revealed they’d once been contacted by David Guetta in regards to a collaboration. They told Digital Spy:
“The production [in pop/chart music] a lot of the time is really cool and impressive. But it's hard for me to identify with a lot of the lyrics. So much of it seems to be about completely forgetting any sort of responsibility and having fun. It's nice that people have that music to turn off the world to, but it doesn't have the kind of staying power that I crave.
“What's that huge song - I don't actually like it cos I get so furious when it gets stuck in my head - 'I am titanium' [by David Guetta] It drills into your brain! I think [Guetta] actually has maybe approached us.”
