Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys have paid tribute to the late Lou Reed by performing his track Walk on the Wild Side live.
The chart-toppers are part way through a UK arena tour, which follows the release of their fifth album ‘AM’.
The band opened the tour with a hefty 20-song set in Newcastle and, faced with the news of Reed’s death, they decided to pay tribute to the star the only way they knew how - by performing one of his classics.
Walk on the Wild Side - which was produced by David Bowie - is one of Reed’s most famous songs and featured on his second solo album ‘Transformer’, which hit shelves back in 1972. The single is also climbing up the iTunes chart since his death.
