Lily Allen Covers Keane For John Lewis Christmas Advert - Watch Here

Friday, 08 November 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Lily Allen has made her music comeback, providing the soundtrack for this year's John Lewis Christmas TV advert. Revealed today, Allen covers Keane's Somewhere Only We Know as the musical centrepiece for the new animated campaign.

In 2010, Ellie Goulding covered Elton John's classic Your Song for John Lewis, taking her new version of the song to the top of the iTunes chart. The following year, Amelia Warner recorded an alternative version of the Smiths' Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want for the Christmas ad, while in 2012, the campaign was soundtracked by Gabrielle Aplin's cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Power Of Love, eventually becoming a UK #1 single.

The exposure coming with new advert will be perfect for Allen, who is expected to release her third studio album in 2014. The ad, a short story about the spirit of Christmas dubbed 'The Bear And The Hare', will premiere during the break of this Saturday's X Factor on ITV1.
