Radiohead Release 'PolyFauna' App

Wednesday, 12 February 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Radiohead have released 'PolyFauna', a new app created in conjunction with Nigel Godrich, Stanley Donwood and digital design house Universal Everything.

Spawned from sessions for the band's 'King Of Limbs' album, the app is inspired by the song Bloom and, according to Thom Yorke, "an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious". He said:

"Your screen is the window into an evolving world. Move around to look around. You can follow the red dot. You can wear headphones."

In a statement, Universal Everything added:

"It is inspired by everything from the atmospheric landscape paintings of JW Turner and Peter Doig, to the computational life forms of Karl Sims."
