Stone Sour To Release New Covers EP 'Straight Outta Burbank'

Tuesday, 10 November 2015 Written by Laura Johnson

Stone Sour will release a new covers EP, 'Straight Outta Burbank', later this month.

The record is set to be part of Record Store Day's Black Friday on November 27. It is the second in the 'Burbank' cover series, the first of which, 'Meanwhile In Burbank', was released in April.

The tracklisting includes covers of Bad Brains, Iron Maiden, the Rolling Stones, Mötley Crüe and Slayer and features a guest appearance by Halestorm's Lzzy Hale - which you can listen to below.

Discussing the EP, frontman Corey Taylor said:

“I love 'Straight Outta Burbank' because it's a little bit further out there than 'Meanwhile In Burbank...'  The first EP was a little closer together style-wise. This one hits a few different corners: got Bad Brains on one end and the Stones on the other, with Crue, Slayer and Maiden in between... and the crazy thing is it all WORKS. I think that's a reflection of us as a band - we do what we want, style-wise and it WORKS. I hope people enjoy the spirit, music and fun that went into this.”
