Kesha has shared True Colors, her collaboration with Zedd.
The song is a reworking of the title track of Zedd's 2015 album and marks Kesha's first new release since 2013. It has been put out with the permission of RCA and Dr. Luke's Kemosabe imprint and emerges during an ongoing legal battle between Kesha and her long-time producer and label.
Just to clarify:
We didn't use any loop holes. Kemosabe / RCA gave us permission to release this song!
Earlier this year, Zedd tweeted Kesha that he would “be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help” after a judge denied her request to be freed from her recording deal with Dr Luke, whom she alleges physically and sexually assaulted her. Zedd and Kesha subsequently performed together at Coachella.
