Chuck Berry, who today celebrates his 90th birthday, will release a new album next year.
'Chuck', the rock 'n' roll icon's first record in 38 years, will arrive via Dualtone Records and will be written, recorded and produced by Berry. It will feature his children, Charles Berry Jr on guitar and Ingrid Berry on harmonica, as well as Jimmy Marsala on bass, pianist Robert Lohr and Keith Robinson on drums.
In a statement about the record, Berry said:
“This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy [Themetta Berry - his wife of 68 years]. My darlin’ I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!”
