Anthrax Plot 2022 UK And European 40th Anniversary Tour With Municipal Waste

Anthrax will bring their 40th anniversary celebrations to the UK and Europe in 2022.
The New York thrash pioneers will kick off the 28-date tour on September 27 in Birmingham, before stops in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, Bristol and London, where they'll take over the O2 Academy Brixton on October 8.
Following the UK run, they'll head to major cities across Europe, with gigs stretching to early November. Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST/11am CET on August 20. Support will come from Virginia's crossover metal party fiends Municipal Waste. Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante said:
"It sure has been a long time since we rock'n'rolled in the UK and Europe, but we’re coming back soon to bring the noise to all of you guys. Being that we can’t get over there until 2022, we’re going to make sure that every show will be an eventful one. We won’t just be playing four decades of songs to celebrate our ongoing 40th anniversary - hey, we’ll be giving YOU some history! - but we just might have some brand new ones for you as well. Can’t wait to see all your happy, smiling faces!!!"
Vocalist Joey Belladonna added: "There's just something special about Europe. Our fans there have always had a full-fledged excitement about our shows, and I enjoy performing more than anyone can imagine, so we're really looking forward to this tour."
Anthrax, who are also due to play a handful of US festivals this fall, released their latest studio album, 'For All Kings', in 2016.
