Bear's Den Announce New Album 'Blue Hours' And Accompanying Tour Dates In UK, Europe And US

Bear's Den have announced a new album and an accompanying tour.
'Blue Hours', the follow-up to 2020's 'Fragments' with Paul Frith, will arrive on May 13 via Communion Records. One half of the duo, Andrew Davie said:
“Blue Hours is a kind of imaginary space you get into at night, a place where you process difficult things or where you try to figure everything out.”
Continuing to discuss the record's themes of self-reflection and mental health, he added: "It’s the main over-arching theme with this record. It probably speaks to our struggles and hopefully many other people’s too. Men are not very good at talking. We’re not really taught how to – men have no idea how to talk about this stuff, certainly to each other.”
The band's Kevin Jones explained there was also hope running through the record:
“We wanted this to be a celebration of music. I think that informed some of the bolder decision making on this record. At a time when music was so distant, it felt important to make an album that sounded hopeful, celebratory, ambitious and beautiful in spite of the heavy subject matter in some of the songs.
“It was almost like we needed to shout louder than before because we felt that there were more barriers between the audience and us. We needed something to transcend that.”
In late 2021, the band released the album's lead single All That You Are, and have now shared new cut Spiders, a melancholic folk-rock offering. Check it out below alongside the record's artwork and tracklist.
Bear's Den will support the album with tour dates in the UK, Europe and North America throughout 2022. The UK and Ireland leg will include stops in Bristol, London, Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham and Leeds between May 17 and 27. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on January 28.
