The Subways Announce Fifth Studio Album And Autumn UK Tour, Post New Single

The Subways have dropped a new single.
Following 2021's Black Lives Matter-inspired Fight, You Kill My Cool marks the latest track from their forthcoming fifth studio album, due out later in 2022 via Alcopop! Records. Further details are still to be revealed.
Brooding, with a powerful drum beat and a ballsy guitar riff, the song arrives with news that drummer Camille Phillips will become a permanent addition to the group.
The new era follows the departure of original sticksmith and founding member Josh Morgan in October 2020, though his final drum contributions will feature on the record. Frontman Billy Lunn commented:
"You Kill My Cool was written at a time when I felt love so strongly that I wanted to be consumed by it, to give myself over to it entirely.
"I recognised a self-effacement in this feeling, as it was a willing submission or surrender that was as much destructive as it was productive. You become ecstatic, beside yourself, and not what you were before. Time stops but moves too quickly, you grow but you also diminish, you feel pleasure alongside immense pain.
"The one you love is more than just a single number amongst seven-billion others, more than a profile picture or a name by which you call them. They're godlike—and with such power, they can send you to a state of nirvana and they can demolish you. Either of which continues to enthral."
To accompany the news, the group have announced an autumn UK tour, which will follow European shows and summer festival slots in the UK this spring and summer. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on April 8.
