Stereolab Share Simple Headphone Mind And Trippin' With The Birds From Upcoming Compilation

Stereolab have released two new songs from their upcoming compilation album.
Simple Headphone Mind and Trippin' With The Birds will both feature on 'Pulse Of The Early Brain', the fifth volume of their Switched On series of non-LP track compilations, which is scheduled to arrive on September 2 via Warp/Duophonic UHD Disks.
Spanning hypnotising experimentation, with rumbling ominous basslines and spooky harmonics, both tracks originally appeared on Stereolab's 1997 collaborative EP 'Simple Headphone Mind' with Nurse With Wound. The upcoming collection will also include songs from 1992's 'Low Fi' EP, cuts from various editions of 2008's 'Chemical Chords', a live version of Cybele’s Reverie recorded at Hollywood Bowl, and more.
In June, Stereolab unveiled Robot Riot, which was originally written in 2000 for a sculpture made by artist Charles Long, who they collaborated with on 1995's 'Music For The Amorphous Body Study Center' EP.
The band will embark on a run of UK and European dates in the autumn. Before that, their North American tour kicks off September 6 in Nashville, Tennessee. Tickets are on sale now.
