The Darkness Announce New Feature Length Documentary Welcome To The Darkness

A warts and all documentary about The Darkness will hit the big screen this autumn.
Directed by Simon Emmett and produced by Christine Cowin, Welcome to The Darkness will be screened at cinemas through Lightbulb Film Distribution on November 9 for one night only, with a digital and Blu-ray release following on December 4.
Exploding on the scene with their acclaimed debut album, 'Permission to Land', in 2003, three years later The Darkness fell off the music radar following their split at the height of their fame in 2006.
The new feature-length chronicles the British rockers' comeback trail which began nine years later, from starting over with small pub gigs in the middle of nowhere to performing at sold out arenas once again.
Featuring unprecedented access, archive footage and candid interviews filmed over six years, Welcome to The Darkness is a tongue-in-cheek reflection on the band's struggle to recapture former glory. Check out a teaser trailer below.
Ahead of the documentary's release, The Darkness will release a deluxe expanded edition of 'Permission To Land' through Warner Music on October 6 as part of the album's 20th anniversary celebrations.
They'll also embark on their Permission To Land 20th Anniversary Tour this autumn, with the North American leg set to kick off on October 3 in San Francisco. European shows will follow in November, with UK and Ireland dates scheduled for December, and Australian and New Zealand gigs confirmed for early 2024. Tickets are on sale now.
