Rod Stewart And Jools Holland Team Up For New Album 'Swing Fever'

Rod Stewart and Jools Holland have partnered up for a new album.
'Swing Fever' is due out through Warner Music on February 23 and features 13 classic big band numbers, including Ain’t Misbehavin and Pennies From Heaven, reworked by the pair, who are accompanied by Holland's Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
Recorded at Holland's own studio in Greenwich, the collaboration was first ignited during conversations between the two during the COVID-19 pandemic years. Speaking with Stewart, Holland said:
"I was just packing up to go away for Christmas, and you rang me. We hadn't really spoken at any length before. I thought 'I love Rod, how exciting,' and you said 'I want to do a record.' I'd been a fan of Rod forever but we realised with the old music that we liked a lot of the same things."
Stewart continued: "I'd already started making a swing album, but it didn't turn out how I wanted it. It was more Frank Sinatra than it was Louis Prima, let's say. So I cancelled that, and then I realized the guy I should go to is Jools. Also, our fanatical model railway enthusiasm bonded us together. So we started recording."
As a preview, the duo have released their upbeat, toe-tapping take on Almost Like Being In Love, penned by Frederick Loewe and famously recorded by Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole.
Ahead of a summer European tour, Stewart will play Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham in May. He also has 13 US concerts scheduled from February through to August, including a run of dates in Las Vegas.
Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra are currently touring the UK, with their run of shows set to continue in Bath tomorrow (December 6).
