Gnarls Barkley have decided to withdraw their worldwide smash hit single 'Crazy' for fear that people may be getting sick of it, and so that they can start promoting their next single.
The song, which reached the top of the charts on download sales alone, have now decided to delete the single so that they can start promotion for 'Smiley Faces'.
"I consider myself a realist," Gnarls Barkley said in a statement. "I
suppose that goes for most of us. But I have found a way to at once
hold them, fold them, walk away and run.
"This was not a painless
decision. But pain is nothing but a bi-product of beauty. Potentially
toxic, to be sure, but that's all it is."
The single has spent a whopping nine weeks at the top of the official UK Single charts.
Korda Marshall, Managing Director of Warner
Bros. Records UK, added, "'Crazy' has proved to be a huge
international smash hit that has travelled and communicated around the
world incredibly well. We feel that the album, 'St. Elsewhere', is such
a strong depth of work that we want to move onto 'Smiley Faces' for the
summer".
'Smiley Faces' will be the second release from the album and is released on July 17th.
