Arctic Monkeys Stand-In Bassist Breaks His Hand

Tuesday, 30 May 2006 Written by Stereoboard.com
ImageNick O'Malley, the bassist who will stand in for Andy Nicholson for the Arctic Monkeys on their US & Canada Tour, has broken his hand.

The ex-Dodgems member was announced as a replacement last week after Nicholson pulled out of the upcoming dates due to exhaustion.

O'Malley's former Dodgems’ bandmate Phil Goodwin explained: "As we walking home form the pub, our roadie grabbed him and pulled him over our neighbour's wall.

"It's quite high and he landed on his right hand. It is his plectrum, hand and he has a pot on it - but he says he can still hold a plectrum."

The North American tour kicked off in Vancouver on Saturday night.
