Maluma has announced his first new album in three years.
Described as the most personal and honest project of his career, 'Loco X Volver' (loosely meaning "dying to return") is inspired by missing the person he used to be before finding fame as Maluma. The Colombian superstar revealed the news with an emotional video posted to Instagram, in which he also confirmed its May 15 release.
"I missed Juan Luis; I missed my true essence, that dreamer of a boy, and now, I’m back. I’m doing well now; I feel strong, happy, and excited," he said. "This is an album that helped me heal, and without a doubt, it is the most personal project I have ever created. This is a very special moment for me – one that I hope resonates with you all – an album that truly represents my roots and my culture."
The follow-up to 2023's 'Don Juan' will feature 14 songs, including four previously unveiled tracks; 1+1 with Kany García, Botero with Arcángel and NTG, Con el Corazón with the late singer Yeison Jimenez, and Pa’ La Seca with the Ryan Castro, though the full tracklist remains under wraps. The album's heartfelt title track is also available on YouTube, serving up a softer, stripped back sound than his typical reggaeton songs.
Since his last album, Mulama also released the '1 of 1' EP in 2024.
