Sheryl Crow will release her 12th studio album this autumn.
'Pick You Up', the follow-up to 2024's 'Evolution', will arrive digitally on October 9, followed by a vinyl release on November 20 via Old Green Barn Productions LLC.
Comprising seven original songs written alongside longtime collaborator Jeff Trott, the album finds the multi-Grammy-winning American artist returning to her rock and Americana sound of the '90s while exploring themes of hope and unity. Crow explained:
"Each of these songs are a commentary on being human and wanting connection. There is a lot of chaos all around us and I definitely find myself feeling alone. My wish is that whoever hears these songs feels the hope I feel when I sing them! I hope these songs feel like a soothing moisturizer on our chapped hearts. We are all going through so much in our humanity right now that being awake can feel like trudging through a burning desert. But we are never alone. And there is beauty everywhere. We just have to keep our eyes open."
As a preview, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has shared the album's first single, a collaboration with American folk singer-songwriter Jesse Welles titled Freedom Bus, a country-rock offering that reflects on finding unity despite differences through Crow's storytelling style.
"I do not take freedom lightly because our freedom has been paid for in the lives of others throughout history and that is something I wish we could all remember when we are interacting with each other," Crow said. "Our dialogue and ability to disagree must reflect what has been paid for in the blood, sweat, and tears of those who fought for every man and woman to be created equal and to enjoy the rights that our constitution has allowed each of us."
Since her last album, Crow has released the live album 'Lights So Bright (Live Toronto '95)' in 2024, followed by the 'Keep Me Searching (Live Los Angeles '94)' EP and the singles I Know, See You On The Other Side and The New Normal last year. 2025 also saw her collaborate with James Bay and Joy Oladokun.
